Most of the photographs in my portfolio exemplify the unique niche I am trying to carve out. They often feature out-of-focus elements of natural environments or objects, which give them a vibrant, “real” quality and provide the viewer with a feeling of “being there”. People often say that some of my photographs look more like paintings, which always makes me smile!
I started my professional photography business, Evan Rapoport Photography (formerly known as Shutter Thoughts), in 2008 by opening my online gallery and showing some of my work in a gallery in Kailua, Hawaii. Since then, my work has also been featured in a month-long solo show at the Peggy Chun Gallery in downtown Honolulu, and put into the permanent collection at the world-renowned Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
